Social Media Policy
This Social Media Policy (or “Policy”) governs your access to, and engagement with, Carus LLC’s (“Carus”) various social media platforms (or “Platforms”), including, but not limited to, Facebook, LinkedIn, and YouTube. By accessing and engaging with our Platforms, you agree to abide by this Policy and acknowledge that Carus reserves the right but undertakes no responsibility to review, edit, move, delete, or hide any material submitted as a comment to the information provided for display or placed on the Platforms in its sole discretion, without notice. Comments submitted to these Platforms will be monitored and reviewed to ensure compliance with this Policy.
We hope to receive submissions from all viewpoints, but we ask that you agree to the following terms of participation:
–Please post only related and relevant questions to our Platforms to ensure constructive questions and dialogue.
–Refrain from posting questions and/or comments that contain threats, obscenity, material that would violate any applicable law, and any abusive, defamatory, false, misleading, fraudulent, unauthorized, or sexually explicit material.
–Please use reasonable and responsible dialogue for opposing views. Carus will be courteous and professional in our postings and ask that you do the same.
Submissions containing any of the following may be deleted or hidden in our sole discretion:
-Obscene or threatening language or discrimination (hate speech) based on race, sex, gender, religion, national origin, age, or disability
-Promotion of services or products
-Any personal or sensitive information (phone numbers, email, or postal addresses)
-Material that is in violation of any applicable law
-Opposing dialogue deemed disrespectful, inflammatory, or counterproductive
-Comments that contain misinformation or are not factual
-Comments that are off-topic and unrelated to the original post
-Random or unintelligible text
-Content which compromises the safety or security of Carus employees or members of the public
-Content which contains images, videos or links to sites that do not conform to these guidelines
-Any potential infringement upon any intellectual property rights, including but not limited to, brand names, trade names, logos, copyrights or trade secrets of any person, business or place;
You understand and acknowledge that the list provided above is not exhaustive and all submissions to the Platforms are subject to reasonable review and action by Carus. Participants or users of the Platforms may be banned or blocked after 2 violations of these guidelines without notice and at the sole discretion of Carus.
Carus understands social media is a 24/7 form of communication. However, Carus does not monitor its Platforms on a 24/7 basis, and as a result, may not see every comment that violates this Policy right away. Comments posted to our Platforms are the opinion of the original author, not Carus. The publication of a comment does not imply endorsement or agreement by Carus. In no way do the comments posted to our Platforms reflect the opinions or positions of Carus or its employees.
Carus does not collect, maintain, or otherwise use personal information stored on any third-party site in any way other than to communicate with users. Users may remove themselves at any time from the Carus “friends,” “followers,” and “fans” lists. Please be aware that third-party websites have their own terms of use and privacy policies, and you should follow these terms of use and policies accordingly. To protect your own privacy and the privacy of others, please do not include personally identifiable information such as addresses, emails, phone numbers, etc. in the body of your comment or post.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Carus, its affiliates, and their respective officers, directors, employees, contractors, agents, licensors, successors, and assigns from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys’ fees) arising out of or relating to your violation of this Policy.
All matters relating to this Policy, and any dispute or claim arising therefrom or related thereto (in each case, including non-contractual disputes or claims), shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the internal laws of the State of Illinois without giving effect to any choice or conflict of law provision or rule. Any legal suit, action, or proceeding arising out of, or related to, this Policy shall be instituted exclusively in the courts of the State of Illinois, in each case located in the County of LaSalle, IL. You waive any and all objections to the exercise of jurisdiction over you by such courts and to venue in such courts. No waiver by Carus of any term or condition set out in this Policy shall be deemed a further or continuing waiver of such term or condition or a waiver of any other term or condition, and any failure of Carus to assert a right or provision under this Policy shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision. If any provision of this Policy is held by a court or other tribunal of competent jurisdiction to be invalid, illegal, or unenforceable for any reason, such provision shall be eliminated or limited to the minimum extent such that the remaining provisions of the Policy will continue in full force and effect.
